Blog #7 Feminist Criticism

Feminist Criticism

I would have to agree with my group when we talked about the way women were sought to be. Women were seen to be conservative and have more class. Women in the 60's were not known to walk around in bathing suits. They were known to have "shoulders covered." The social dominance or rules was challenged by Queenie and her friend by walking in the store barely covered. The boss of the store has old fashion ideas about how women should present themselves as ladies and not as slut. Not saying they are sluts but in my opinion you dress like one, you are asking to be called a one. The girls knew they were being stared at the whole time they were in the store and they didn't care. with her arguing with Sammy and implying that there was nothing wrong with the way they were dressed just shows her try at challenging the way society is telling the girls to dress. The boss says to the girls, " This is not a beach." And tells them that he expects them to dress appropriate when they enter the store. In a way, this seems to still exist because you have to dress appropriate to get service at a store you go to.

Even though I have lost someone so dear to my heart, I imagine spring days, summer days, and all sorts of days that will be my own.

The breeze through this beautiful window that looks out to the patches of blue sky gives me some relief of the grief. The peace and quiet is just what I need.

Blog #5 Orientation

If you want to bartend, you have to know how to multitask. If you can't do that then this job is not for you. When pouring a drink you must be taking another persons order. You're only getting paid about $9 an hour so most of your money comes from the customers. You treat them right and they will reward you with great tips. whatever you do, DO NOT share with other bartenders or servers how much you make. Reason being if you make good money the other girls and boys will try to steal your costumers or take your shifts. Back to shift duties. When you are not with a customer, you do not sit on your phone, clean something, anything! If you are caught on your phone you will be terminated. Being able to multitask will benefit not only the company or your customers, but your wallet. The more drinks the more money! Employees around here are easy to get along with, but there are a few to be aware of. One is a man named Jared, he try's to sleep with every new girl that starts here. Just because he is the owners kid he thinks that he owns the place. Basically, Jared can do what he wants and not get in trouble. Everyone that works here is either dating another co-worker or the are related to each other. So keep your nose clean.
Because you are the night shift bartender you will have to make sure every table in the building is clean and every condiment is stocked. Also all lights have to be off and doors locked. If you forget and this place gets robbed, you will be the one to blame and in result be fired. Even if it is 20 minutes until closing and you have customers to attend to, make sure you take care of them because a girl named April is the snitch around here and if you don't take care of them she will tell the boss and you will lose hours as a first punishment. Once you are on her Sh** list you will never get off of there.
Locking up is one of the most important things you have to do besides locking the doors. All liquor has to be in all cabinets and locked up 10 min before closing. No exceptions! You are on camera and if you don't do what is expected, you will no longer have this job. Keep your nose clean and be nice, but don't make friends with the other employees. They will turn on you in a heartbeat for more money.

blog#4 "A good man is hard to find"

"A Good Man to Find"

In this type of literature it's hard to pick out a grotesque character because grotesque means someone is characterized by foolish, unreasonable, or out of place, or inappropriate manner. The children, John Wesley and June Star, were extremely rude and the things they said to each other, even to other adults were uncalled for. But I believe that the grandmother was the most grotesque character is this piece of literature. She was very selfish and tried to always be in control of the situation. She tried to manipulate this she said so she get her way. For example, the house with the hidden panel. Just because she wanted to see the house she made up a story to get her way. The grandmother seemed like a caring nice lady before the family left for there trip but through out the story you start to learn she is a very rude and racist lady. She definitely doesn't show "Southern Hospitality." She show a very shallow, deceitful, and extremely into herself.  I mean if she never took the cat like she wasn't suppose to, there would of not been an accident!!

blog #2 Man to boy

Man to boy
Boy cut your hair, you look like a girl. Take those gauges out, you are not a punk.  Pull up your pants, no girl wants to see what color your boxers are. Get good grades in high school and go to college, so you can support a family some day. Take a girl some flowers and always feed her with compliment. Women are not property, treat them with respect. Be loyal. Grab a girl that is not dressed like a slut. The ones dressed like they are going to church are the ones you take home to meet you mother. Go buy some regular cut jeans, no those skate boarder, skinny jeans. Learn to talk with respect and confidence.
Don't be better than others around you because in realty your not. If you cant afford to take a girl on a date, get a job, save money, don't depend on mommy and daddy. You are a grown man. Take on responsibilities.
